0Beast Mastery Hunters are absolute powerhouses in The Burning Crusade. While Hunters were off-meta in Classic, they become one of the strongest DPS classes for the entire TBC expansion. Your pet will contribute 40-50% of your total damage output thanks to improved pet scaling — a dead pet means your DPS falls off a cliff, so pet management is the single most important skill you'll develop.

Serpent's Swiftness
20% haste for both you and your pet. Core talent for all BM builds.
The Beast Within
41-point talent. 10% more damage and 20% mana reduction for 18 seconds.
Ferocious Inspiration
Pet crits give 3% damage to all party members. Raid MVP talent.
Mortal Shots
30% crit damage bonus. Mandatory for all Hunters.

BM Hunter DPS revolves around maintaining Steady Shot weaving between Auto Shots while keeping your pet alive and using Kill Command on cooldown.

Kill Command — Use on cooldown. Your pet's strongest attack, benefits from all BM talents. -
Steady Shot — Your main filler. Weave between Auto Shots (fire Steady immediately after each Auto Shot lands). -
Multi-Shot — Use on cooldown in single-target when mana allows. Skip if mana is tight. -
Bestial Wrath — Use on cooldown for 18s of 50% pet damage boost. Macro with The Beast Within.

Rapid Fire — Use on cooldown, ideally with Bestial Wrath and Haste Potion for burst windows.

Arcane Shot — Only use to dump excess mana or when moving and can't Steady Shot.

- Keep your pet alive at ALL costs — a dead pet means 40-50% of your DPS is gone. Use Mend Pet proactively.
- Use Misdirection on the tank before every pull, especially on bosses.
- Don't clip your Auto Shots — wait for the Auto Shot to fire before casting Steady Shot.
- Don't use Arcane Shot as filler in raids — it shares a cooldown with other shots and costs too much mana.
- Hit cap is 9% (142 rating). Once capped, Agility becomes your best stat.
- Ravagers are the best DPS pet due to their Screech ability and high attack speed.
Meta Gem
— +12 Agility, +3% Critical Strike Damage. Requires more red gems than blue.
Gem Priority
Use Delicate Living Ruby (+8 Agility) in red sockets. Use Glinting Noble Topaz (+4 Agi / +4 Hit) in yellow sockets if you need hit rating. Ignore blue sockets unless the bonus is +4 Agility or better — use Shifting Nightseye (+4 Agi / +6 Stamina) to activate meta requirement.
